We are currently looking for a Payroll Manager to join the team in our Vancouver office, the ideal candidate would be extremely detail oriented, have the ability and experience to manage full cycle semimonthly payroll processing for 1200+ hourly and salary employees, benefit plan and tax accounts for several different legal entities with multiple deadlines. The Payroll Manager will report to the Director of Finance and will manage the in-house payroll team.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Develop and implement proper internal control systems to maintain accuracy and integrity of data
- Hiring and training payroll staff
- Recommend, write, and update policies and procedures relation to payroll operations, interfaces, and security
- Manage payroll audit requests from CRA
- Annual review of Sunlife plan and review of alternative options
- Updating plan members in Sunlife as needed
- Manage & track absences, time off requests, salaried vacation time
- Write all contracts for new employees
- Stats Can survey fulfillment
- Maintain records and respond to all WCB/WSIB inquiries, Form 7 submissions, monthly/quarterly/annually remittances

Requirements:
- 5+ years experience processing/managing full cycle payroll of which 3 years has been in a management role for a large, multi entity company
- Ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team
Extensive knowledge of Employment Standards in BC & Ontario - Solid understanding of payroll legislation and compliance
- Experience with ADP Workforce Now an asset
Completion or currently enrolled in Payroll Certification – CPM
